CC PDF Converter – Turn Anything into a PDF
Review by on
The functionality the Cogniview-developed CC PDF Converter has to offer is fairly simple to explain. Get this application, install it on your Windows-powered computer, and you can turn any document into a PDF. You can turn a Word document into a PDF or you can turn a webpage presented in Internet Explorer into a PDF.

Think of it as a PDF printer – instead of printing a Word document onto a piece of paper, you print it onto a virtual PDF document. You can then take that PDF document and give it to others. You can send it to your friends, or business partners, subscribers, anyone you want.

How much money do you think Cogniview wants in return for the functionality CC PDF Converter has to offer? None at all! You can use this application for as long as you want and not part with your hard earned money; just like you don’t have to part with your money to get Adobe Reader, the application used to read PDF documents.

Not only is CC PDF Converter free, it is open source. The application and its code source is license under GPL. You can download it as an archive here , or you can browse through the source code here . Cogniview said that if you like the functionality CC PDF Converter has to offer, perhaps you could make a donation to the Creative Commons and perhaps you could check out its paid applications as they might prove to be useful.

Getting back to the functionality this application provides, there is one thing I omitted up there. There is one more thing CC PDF Converter does: it lets you embed a creative commons license in your PDF files.

The bottom line is that CC PDF Converter is a free, open source, easy to use application that acts as your personal, virtual PDF printer. You can easily turn just about any document into a PDF and you can embed a creative commons license into your PDF.

Pros
  • Free, open source
  • Easy to use
  • Create PDF documents from almost any application
  • Easily embed a creative commons license in your PDF file

Cons
  • None that I could think of
